AI readiness scorecard

Pick one process you would like to automate and answer ten quick questions. You'll get a readiness score out of 20, what to fix first and a recommended next step.

1. How well defined is the process?
2. How often does it happen?
3. How much staff time does it take in total?
4. What are the inputs?
5. Can the systems involved be connected?
6. Do you have past examples with known correct outcomes?
7. Is there a clear measure of success?
8. Is there someone who owns the process and can make decisions?
9. How clear are you on data and privacy rules for it?
10. How does the team feel about automating it?

How to read your score

  • 0 to 8: Build the foundations first. This process isn't ready for AI yet, and that is common.
  • 9 to 14: Ready for a focused pilot. There is enough here to test AI on a narrow part of the process.
  • 15 to 20: Ready to automate. This looks like a strong candidate: frequent, well understood, measurable and digitally accessible.

The score is a starting point, not a verdict. A low score usually means a few inexpensive preparation steps, not that AI can never help. For a review of your actual processes, documents and systems, see the AI Readiness Assessment, or read our 90-day AI automation roadmap.

Scorecard: frequently asked questions

How is the AI readiness score calculated?

Each of the ten questions scores 0, 1 or 2 points, for a total out of 20. The questions cover the factors that most often decide whether an automation project succeeds: process clarity, volume, time spent, digital inputs, system access, example data, a success measure, ownership, data rules and team support.

Is anything I enter in the scorecard stored or sent anywhere?

No. The scorecard runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are not saved, sent to Dassjay Labs or shared with anyone.

Should I score one process or the whole business?

One process at a time. Readiness varies a lot between processes in the same company, so scoring two or three candidates separately is the quickest way to find the best first project.
